Emergency
Cabins

Emergency Cabins are modular, temporary structures, designed for rapid deployment in disaster or emergency situations, providing immediate sleeping quarters, ensuring safety, privacy and dignity for people experiencing temporary homelessness..

Homelessness

Homelessness is not a single experience. It affects people displaced by natural disasters, refugees seeking safety, and individuals who have lost their homes due to financial hardship.

Providing a temporary, safe place to sleep is often essential for supporting individuals in regaining stability. A short period of rest, during which they do not need to worry about their next sleeping arrangement, can significantly enhance the  ability to transition out of precarious living conditions. Research demonstrates that these interventions promote more rapid and sustainable pathways out of homelessness.

Pressure on facilities

However, in many countries, the actual number of people experiencing homelessness far exceeds official estimates. Existing shelters are often overcrowded and offer limited privacy, and some individuals without additional support needs are simply denied access. As a result, people are forced to sleep in cars, squats, or on the couches of friends and family, and many ultimately end up on the streets. Without a safe and private space to rest and recover, mental health and overall well-being deteriorate, further exacerbating existing challenges.

Make use of space

At the same time, vacant buildings — including offices, schools, and warehouses — often remain unused for extended periods pending renovation, sale, or demolition. Such spaces could be temporarily repurposed to provide shelter and restore dignity to individuals in vulnerable situations.

Emergency Cabins represent a solution to address these challenges, offering temporary, safe, and dignified shelter to those in need.

The Emergency Cabin

The Emergency Cabin is a modular system with which a temporary emergency shelter can be created quickly, effectively and affordable in different types of buildings and spaces. The design is cost-effective, space-efficient and multifunctional. The cabins create individual sleeping quarters, offering a safe, private and dignified space for people experiencing temporary homelessness.
